About RecallRadarPR

Made in Cabo Rojo — useful for all of Puerto Rico.

Who built this?

Angel Anderson (developer, Cabo Rojo) and Noelia Anderson (Pharmacy Operations Consultant). We built it because FDA recall information is hard to find, in English, and uses technical language that the general public does not understand.

Why does it exist?

When a medication or food has a recall, people in Puerto Rico find out late — or never. News comes out in English, on federal sites, without local context. RecallRadarPR filters recalls that affect Puerto Rico, translates them to Spanish, and tells you what to do in plain language.

Where does the data come from?

Directly from FDA OpenFDA, the official public API. We filter by distribution_pattern: "Puerto Rico" and update daily. We cover three types: drugs, food, and medical devices.
